It has been inspired to me that your Ilah (God) is One Ilah (God i.e. The first and last 10 ayahs of Surat AlKahf are highly recommend to memorize, but I especially like the last 4 ayahsġ8:107-110 إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَنَّاتُ الْفِرْدَوْسِ نُزُلًا "Verily! Those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous deeds, shall have the Gardens of Al-Firdaus (the Paradise) for their entertainment. The common phrase among Muslims that "actions should be judged by their intentions" relates closely to the relationship between these two aspects of Islamic ethics. At its most simple level the former term refers to acts while the latter refers to the intention behind those acts. Batin on the other hand refers to the inner, spiritual dimension. Zahir refers to the outer dimension, or the outer face, of the Islamic faith. The words zahir and batin are two Quranic terms that, while not too well known outside specialist circles, describe something highly important in the Islamic tradition.

He is the First and the Last, and the Outward and the Inward Are there any ayahs or short surahs in the Quran that sounds nice or have a deep or interesting meaning?įor example, in Sufi literature they refer to Zahir and Batin a lot and in the Quran 57:3
